Education experts discussed what works and what needs to be fixed

Why it matters: Leaders from different areas of the education sector know there's not one silver bullet that will fix the US education system. For the experts on the "Finding Common Ground: Getting What Works Into the Classroom" panel at the Milken Institute Global Conference, solutions varied from holding higher education institutions accountable for better teacher training to teaching young students to be grateful for the opportunity to learn.

If you're wondering about what the Milken Institute Global Conference is all about, here's some of the details:
Getting a ticket to actually attend the conference is tough and/or expensive, but you don't have to go to the event to hear most of what is being discussed. Many of the sessions are livestreamed or uploaded to YouTube here: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL49E4273132AEA12E .
Sadly, many people would rather bash the conference as a gathering of the "0.00001%" than dive into those sessions on YouTube and get smarter. And remember, the folks at the Milken Institute don't have to post those videos. They do it because they think the information should be out there for all to see - for free.
