HCI. was used decades ago..... ah, check that, it is HUI i am thinking about, Human User Interface. For interactive videodisc design, a HUI was a huge documnet element of the Design Document, and often set apart from, but always a companion. It was incredibly detailed. It clearly described every possible human interaction, eg. Press Next. What happened when users did it? And often, a useful error message if it did not perform iaw design intent.
I liked a log we used in it: Ideas Rejected for Cause. What, Why etc not unlike today’s action items (if implemented correctly). Not just what but how and when in NLT (no later than) NST (no sooner than) terms. The good ole days…..
