BEGINNER’S AI LEARNING ROADMAP

Beginner’s AI Learning Roadmap

AI Income Lab · Week 1 · Module 1 — Learn Faster · Create Smarter

A simple on-ramp to understand AI, pick your tools, and ship tiny wins—fast.

 You’ll walk away with:

  • Plain-English AI basics
  • Your Personal AI Stack
  • 3 micro-projects to try this week
  • A simple progress dashboard

Step 1 — Get Oriented: What “AI” Really Means

Think of AI as smart pattern recognition that learns from data. No sci-fi required.

Type Simple Definition Everyday Example
🤖 Machine Learning (ML) Learns from examples instead of hard-coded rules. Spam filters, product recommendations.
💬 Generative AI Creates new text, images, audio, or video from patterns. Write drafts, design graphics, synthesize voice.
🧠 Large Language Models (LLMs) Generative AI trained on massive text datasets. ChatGPT/Claude answering questions, summarizing docs.
🧩 Neural Networks Layered “neurons” that detect features and patterns. Speech recognition, photo tagging, translation.

You don’t need to code these. You’ll use tools built on top of them.

Step 2 — Build Your AI Starter Stack (pick 3)

💬 Chat-based AI

Brainstorm, outline, summarize, plan.

Tip: Save prompts you reuse into a “Prompt Library.”

🎨 Image & Design

Thumbnails, slides, social graphics, logos.

Tip: Create one brand kit; reuse endlessly.

🎬 Audio & Video

Voiceovers, explainer clips, social reels.

Tip: Write a 2-sentence script; keep it punchy.

Step 3 — Core Concepts (no math)

  • Supervised Learning: learns from labeled examples. “These are cats—spot more cats.”
  • Unsupervised Learning: finds patterns without labels. “Group similar photos.”
  • Reinforcement Learning: improves by rewards. “Get points for wins—learn to win more.”
  • Transfer Learning: reuses existing knowledge. “Reuse what you learned for a new task.”

Reminder

These are the engines inside the apps you’ll use. You don’t need to build them—just drive them well.

Ask concept questions

Step 4 — Learn by Doing (3 micro-projects)

1) Article → Summary

Paste an article into ChatGPT or Perplexity. Ask for a 5-bullet summary + 1 actionable next step.

Summarize in 5 bullets. Then suggest one concrete next step a beginner can do in 15 minutes.

2) Social Graphic

Create a tip card in Canva. Export square 1080×1080. Post with a 1-line hook.

Hook (≤12 words) → 3 bullets → CTA link. Keep fonts consistent.

3) 20-sec Voice Intro

Write a 2-sentence script. Generate voice in ElevenLabs. Add background loop in Suno.

“Hi, I’m ___, building with AI. This week I learned __. Follow for weekly micro-wins.”

Step 5 — Learn Together

Share screenshots, prompts, and 30-sec wins inside the Incubator community:

Prompt to post: “My Week-1 micro-win was ____ using ____. Feedback welcome!”

Step 6 — Track Your Progress

  • ✅ Tools tested (ChatGPT, Canva, Runway…)
  • 🧠 Skills learned (prompting, editing, automating)
  • 💡 Projects shipped (summary, graphic, voiceover)
  • 💰 Income experiments (what could someone pay for?)

Templates

Simple is better—track weekly, not daily.
