Saving and Protecting Passwords

This is usually the moment where you might wonder if you know the passwords for all the accounts you own. Especially for those that automatically log in because you intentionally set it up like that.

We need to store passwords and data for many accounts, such as orders for our cable operators, credit card information, copies of personal documents, access data for certain devices, and more.

So how do you keep all these passwords safe and make them readily available when you need them?

 Most of today's Internet browsers allow you to store passwords. In other words, when you open the page where you must log in with your username and password, your browser will offer you to download this information so that you will be automatically logged in the next time you open the same page. This is probably today's most popular way of storing passwords because it makes the work very pleasant. The benefits of this method of storing passwords are: 1. Automatic login so you do not have to enter the password every time.
2. Synchronize all devices by remembering passwords on your computer, your phone, and your tablet, if you are logged in to the browser itself and use it on all devices. The disadvantages of this method of storing passwords are: 1. Anyone who sits behind your computer can have access to all of your accounts. 2. Anyone who sits behind a computer can read passwords. 3. If you are not careful, you can accidentally save the password on another computer and make your account available.

 There are many programs that you can use to save passwords. One of the most famous is 1password, and a lot of users choose Lastpass also. These are not only password-saving programs, but you can also store credit card information, some important notes for you, logins on home devices, and many other things. Both programs have mobile applications that synchronize with each other so that you can store all the passwords on your mobile phone. The good thing about these programs are that they can generate passwords for you, which can be very useful when you sign up for a new service that you want to use.
 The benefits of this method of storing passwords are: 1. The program is easily accessible so you can easily access the old ones and enter new passwords.
2. Synchronizes with all the other devices you have, which greatly eases the situation if you accidentally cancel the hard drive on which the program is installed. 3. It supports online backup data that connects to your account, which is another level of security.

 Most of us started to keep passwords in this way. All you have to do is create a text document with a password list. I suggest that once you make this kind of document, apply some kind of protection. For example, if you create it in Word, you can choose to protect it with a password. If you use Notepad ++, which is my recommendation, you can use one of the encryption programs, such as Veracrypt. The benefits of storing passwords this way are: 1. You have the freedom to keep passwords in the way that suits you and how best to manage. 2. They are pretty safe to keep because they are stored in a folder on your computer that is not easy to find and the document itself is encrypted The disadvantages of storing passwords this way are: 1. Sometimes you will not have the patience to enter a new password or password that you changed because your document is not easily accessible. 2. If your hard drive fails without notice, and if this is the only place you store passwords, you may be in trouble. As for everything, there is no universal solution, and it may be best to opt for a combination of some of the previously mentioned ways.
